I have chosen this article for my media project this week because I feel like It highlights a particularly important conversation on diversity. I like that It is directly linked to what is a major conversation in our country right now. Many thought that Fascism and that the Nazi party died with Hitler but amid our most recent American presidential election we have found that to not be true. Our 45th and current U.S President Donald Trump has openly supported Racism and hatred in our country. President Trump has been quoted, heard, videotaped, and broadcasted saying many racist, prejudices, anti-minority things in the past year. Seeing as Trump is in a major position of power, his voice and opinions have seemed to awaken extremist factions in the United States and all over the world that people were not aware of before. These factions are comprised of people who are against certain differences in skin, religion, lifestyles, sexuality, gender etc. They have come forward and become more outspoken during Trumps presidency. I find their emergence more than disturbing. These opinions that we thought had mostly died out showcase why it is so important that we have a proper dialogue in a safe place about diversity. Diversity is so vital for the continuation of our rich global culture and identity. Without the diversity everyone would be the same. I think that media projects like this one published on yahoo are vital for the continuation of reminding people that Trump's voice is not our voice. I think it is vital we continue to have conversations on these topics going forward.
